Curtis has been the pastor of Hope since it began in 2003. He is married to Brandy and they have two children, Hannah and Brennan. He enjoys spending time with Brandy and the kids, reading, drinking lots of coffee and occasional games of pick-up basketball and flag football.
John the staff in 2015. Prior to coming to Hope, he served at Faith Church in Allentown, PA and Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, PA. As Associate Pastor, John facilitates small groups, preaches once a month and helps with general shepherding of the church. John enjoys exploring the city with his wife Julia, and all things hockey.
Zach Barton, Director of Children's Ministry, Administrator
Zach joined staff at Hope in 2016. He previously worked in the Children's Ministry at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. He is finishing his M.Div at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Zach oversees the Children's Ministry as well as day-to-day administrative work around the church. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Jillian and their three children, as well as reading good books and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
John joined the staff in 2016 and has been a member of the church for over ten years. He oversees local outreach efforts to the community as well as Hope's partnerships with those serving in communities all over the world. John is a native of New England, from Framingham, MA. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristin, barefoot water skiing on his parents' lake, and challenging anyone to a game of Ticket to Ride.
Jeff moved to Cambridge from Philadelphia in 2016 along with his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughter, Vail. He enjoys cooking and food culture and possesses a pseudo-religious level of commitment to the rock band U2.
Helen Bickel, Administrative Assistant
Helen is a part-time member of the staff. She is a widow with one grown son who is a local playwright. Her responsibilities at Hope include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and other related functions. Her interests include writing fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, some of which she hopes to publish. She is an avid student of the Bible and loves getting alone with God.
Ryan and his wife Janine have roots in the American West, but they have lived in the Boston area since 2007. They have two boys: Owen and Alaric. Ryan recently completed a doctorate in ancient and medieval history. He teaches writing; he also enjoys reading, writing, hiking, board gaming, and drinking lots of coffee.
Danny and his wife Crystal are elementary school sweethearts, originally hailing from southern California but now firmly rooted in New England. They have three children: Faith, Noah, and Gabriel. Danny is a professor at Boston College Law School, where he teaches telecommunications and Internet law. When not at work or in school, the Lyons family enjoys camping, hiking, games, Red Sox baseball, reading, and classic cinema.
Mike and his wife Lexi are from the warm weather of South Florida and Southern California, but have fallen in love with temperate New England. Mike works as a healthcare investor at Advent International and loves reading, running, skiing, and sailing.
