Community Development Service Opportunities
"He Answered: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all you strenght and with all your mind;' and ' Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Luke 10:27

Jesus Christ teaches us that to follow Him means loving the Lord our God with all our being. Furthermore, an expression of this love is shown in how we love and swerve the ones He has created - our neighbors.
At Hope Fellowship Church, one of our greatest passions is to love and serve our neighbors. We seek to live this out through active service in our community in a variety of ways.
Below, you will find information on the ministries we currently offer our neighbors and ways you can connect to volunteer in the community.

It is later picked-up by volunteers and then served from outreach sites to those in need in Davis, Porter, and Harvard Squares.

H.I.S BridgeBuilders, Apartment Ministry

"Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow." Isaiah 1:17
H.I.S. BridgeBuilders partnered with Hope Fellowship in 2004 to minister to the needs of under-resourced Cambridge residents living in local low-income apartment communities. Over the last year, we have focused our outreach ministry to the Fresh Pond Apartments, a 2,300 resident apartment community located a mile and half from Hope's Porter Square church facility. The vast majority of Fresh Pond's residents are immigrants from over 23 nations and most are living well below the poverty level.
H.I.S. BridgeBuilders volunteers have served at the Apartments by teaching English classes, bibles studies and introductory computer classes for the residents. It is our desire to build strong relationships with our neighbors at Fresh Pond - relationships that reflect Jesus Christ's love for us all and bring glory to His name.

Streetlight volunteers also lead an outdoor worship service that everyone in the community is welcome to join.
Outreach volunteers are trained periodically, taught practical skills and best practices for serving homeless men and women who may suffer from mental and physical illness due to alcohol and/or drug addiction. Volunteers are also given local resource information for the homeless every Wednesday eventing before their service in the Squares.
