Hope Fellowship English Program

Boston and Cambridge are comprised of a population that is nearly 25% foreign-born. One third of these international men and women lack the English skills necessary to maintain adequate employment in the city. The Hope Fellowship English program seeks to help the city's international residents by offering quality, affordable English language classes taught by loving instructors. We also offer weekly bible studies created specifically for international learners and regular social & educational events. We work closely with the students, offering them both educational and spiritual support for their lives here in the United States and beyond. Classes are now in session and will run through the week of May 14, 2007.

Starlight Cooking Ministry

At last count, the city of Boston had approximately 6,000 homeless men and women living on the streets. The Starlight Cooking Ministry works to feed the hungry and impoverished right here in our city. Every Wednesday at 7:00 PM, volunteers meet at the church for a time of devotion & prayer and to prepare food for Starlight Ministries, an organization that serves the homeless throughout Boston. The volunteers simply prepare the food. It is later picked-up by Starlight and served by their volunteers to those in need in Harvard Square.

Some of the ways you can serve:

  • Cooking Volunteer
  • Cooking Coordinator
  • Non-perishable Food Donations

Streetlight Outreach

Streetlight Outreach, a partnership between Hope Fellowship Church and Gateway Church of Cambridge, MA, works weekly to serve our brothers and sisters who leave on the streets. It is the desire of the Streetlight Team to bring the light of Christ to the city through this service. Every Wednesday evening in a park near Hope Fellowship, the Streetlight Team gives away warm food and beverages, clothing and counsel to the homeless living in the area. We will also have an outdoor worship service that everyone in the community is welcome to join.

Some of the ways you can serve:

  • Outreach Team Members
  • Assistance with Food Preparation
  • Musicians/Artists for Outdoor Worship Service
